ABOUT  US

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) was established in 1934 by legislation enacted by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey and operates under a compact that was approved by the United States Congress in August 1935.

The employees and officials of the DRJTBC  strive to provide safe, convenient and reliable vehicle and pedestrian transit over the 20 bridges we manage along the Delaware River, benefiting the citizens of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  As public stewards of the bridge infrastructure, we handle our daily work with a consistent emphasis on safety, financial prudence, public involvement and customer satisfaction.

The DRJTBC operates seven toll bridges and thirteen toll-supported bridges crossing the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  The DRJTBC also owns and operates 32 approach structures throughout its jurisdiction.

A board of ten Commissioners governs the DRJTBC.  The five New Jersey Commissioners are nominated by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate.  The five Pennsylvania Commissioners are appointed by the Governor.

Visit the DRJTBC website at www.drjtbc.org for additional information.
